André (Lázaro Ramos) ist zwanzig, hat nie die Schule abgeschlossen und arbeitet als Fotokopierer in einem Arbeiterquartier der Grossstadt Porto Alegre im Süden Brasiliens. André wohnt bei seiner Mutter, zeichnet fürs Leben gern und träumt schüchtern von Sílvia (Leandra Leal). Die weiss nichts davon, liest fleissig, freut sich auf ein Date auf dem weltberühmten Corcovado in Rio und lebt gegenüber bei ihrem Vater.

Mit André arbeitet Marinês (Luana Piovani) und präsentiert ihre üppigen Reize. Andrés Kumpel Cardoso (Pedro Cardoso) würde alles tun, um Marinês zu erobern. Fast alles. André braucht dringend Geld für Sílvia, und so beginnt er, mit Cardoso Scheine zu kopieren ...

André (Lázaro Ramos), relatively poor, falls in love with Silvia (Leandra Leal), a neighbor whom he spy´s with a telescope. Falling more and more in love with her, he begins to follow her around the city and realizes she works in a clothing shop. He works in a xerox place and makes a copy of a brand new 50 real bill in order to buy a dress from her store. This becomes a vice and he begins to photocopy more and more money, until it gets out of control. However, things begin to go wrong when he decides that photcopying is not the only way to make money...
